North German Hydrogen Conference

North German Hydrogen Conference
For the first time, the networks of the northern German federal states are jointly inviting you to the North German Hydrogen Conference on November 15, 2023 from 11 a.m. to approx. 9 p.m. in Cuxhaven.
Northern Germany has ideal conditions for the development of a supra-regional green hydrogen economy: with the seaports for the import of hydrogen and its derivatives, the availability of cavern storage facilities and the enormous onshore and offshore wind potential for electrolysis, an important building block for the green industry and future security of supply is being laid here.
We therefore cordially invite you to find out about the potential and challenges, to join in the discussion and to network. A tour of the project for the production of green hydrogen and hydrogen application (local "use case") of the company Turneo will be possible. All places have already been reserved, but you can register on the waiting list.
The initial panel consists of the political representatives of the five federal states:
- Olaf Lies, Lower Saxony's Minister for Economic Affairs, Transport, Building and Digitalization
- Tobias Goldschmidt, Minister for Energy Transition, Climate Protection, Environment and Nature of the State of Schleswig-Holstein
- Jens Kerstan, Senator for the Environment, Climate, Energy and Agriculture, Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg
- N.N., Minister of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania
- Kai Stührenberg, State Councillor for Ports of the Senator for Economics, Ports and Transformation, Free Hanseatic City of Bremen
They will discuss the topic of Cooperation instead of competition will be discussed. Despite nGerman hydrogen strategytegy, Task Forces and subsidies there are still too many obstacles to the development of the northern German hydrogen obstacles. How can we work better hand in hand to achieve the new German pace together?
We will then devote ourselves to the main topics with keynote speeches and panels:
Ports & imports
In addition to domestic production, we will have to cover a large part of our future hydrogen requirements through imports. The northern German ports are therefore getting ready to import green energy.
Offshore wind & hydrogen
According to the German government, 70 GW of offshore wind energy is to be installed by 2045. We want to generate green hydrogen from this electricity - on land and at sea.
Green electricity from the region for green hydrogen.
The great potential of wind energy in northern Germany enables the production of green hydrogen directly on site.
Following the lecture part, an evening closing with various networking opportunities is planned.
