Tackling climate change and its consequences is high on the agenda at all levels of government and shapes the actions of politicians and administrators. The European Union is developing measures as part of the Green Deal, the federal government has set itself the goal of making Germany greenhouse gas-neutral by 2045 and in Lower Saxony, energy requirements are to be covered entirely by renewable energies by 2040 and greenhouse gas emissions are to be reduced by 65% by 2030 compared to 1990. To achieve these goals, the state government set up an energy transition task force in January 2023.

But what do these efforts mean for the Nienburg / Weser region? The transformation of the energy industry cannot be achieved exclusively through large-scale projects (such as the steelworks in Salzgitter or the "Clean Hydrogen Coastline" project, etc.); rather, many smaller regional and local approaches are also needed to shape the energy transition.

This raises a number of very specific questions for the district of Nienburg:

 How can stakeholders in the district of Nienburg/ Weser contribute to the energy transition?
 What is already happening in the district of Nienburg/ Weser?
 Can I use hydrogen in my own company?
 Who can support me in the transformation processes?

It is This is a joint event organized by the district of Nienburg/Weser, the Hanover Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the Office for regional state development Leine-Weser.
