"Mission Security of Supply - Implementing Transformation between Conflicts and Solutions".

Energy security is one of the key social issues of our time. Advancing climate change and the Ukraine war make it necessary to accelerate the transformation of the energy system. Business, politics and civil society must face up to this task. In many respects, we are in the midst of the much-cited "turn of the times." The goals set out in the German government's coalition agreement of a power supply based almost entirely on renewable energies by 2035 and climate neutrality by 2045 also make one thing clear: the pace must be stepped up.

The accelerated implementation of the transformation entails a wide range of challenges in all parts of society - from rising energy prices, land use conflicts and the need to save energy to issues of social justice. This has consequences for the economy and the world of work, can generate concerns in large sections of the population, and can lead to threats to social cohesion.

At the 14th Lower Saxony Energy Days, these challenges and lines of conflict are to be discussed with the participants and speakers in order to then jointly design approaches for solutions in the course of the accelerated implementation of the transformation of the energy system in the following expert forums:

- Energy transition from the point of view of the economy - affordable and secure
- Co-utilization concepts in Lower Saxony - a lack of space despite an area?
- Frugality - a German virtue? Keeping energy consumption within reasonable limits
- Security of supply and social justice - How can we as a society afford the energy turnaround?

The Lower Saxony Energy Days have been held since 2008 under the organizational leadership of the Lower Saxony Energy Research Center and aim to bring together experts and interested parties from society, politics, administration, business and science in order to promote the necessary transdisciplinary dialogue on the transformation of the energy system.
