Fuel cell systems are becoming increasingly competitive as an alternative to conventional drives using fossil fuels. As market penetration increases, circular economy concepts with efficient solutions for the recovery of precious metals such as platinum and iridium or options for the reuse of components will inevitably be decisive in securing the availability of raw materials.

At the free online event of the Hydrogen Alliance Southern Lower Saxony, Dr.-Ing. Sven Grieger (Head of Innovation Transfer Office - GreenMat4H2 Performance Center) will present findings from a research project in which approaches to "Design for Circularity" of future fuel cells and possible circular economy business models for the fuel cell industry will be discussed in addition to a process chain for the material recycling of fuel cell stacks.

In addition, the Green Materials for Hydrogen (GreenMat4H2) performance center will be presented - a transfer approach in which collaborations are initiated and research findings on the topic of hydrogen are transferred to industry and society.
