South Lower Saxony. The Hydrogen Alliance South Lower Saxony (H2AS) invites all interested parties to the 5th online meeting of the H2AS lecture series on Thursday, 28 April 2022 (17:30-18:30). The topic of the fifth meeting is "Promotion of climate-friendly commercial vehicles and associated refuelling and charging infrastructure".

The purchase of commercial and special vehicles with climate-friendly drives is inhibited by the high acquisition costs. However, there are funding programmes to create the incentive to take up the challenge. NOW GmbH (National Organisation Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology), a subsidiary of the German government, was selected as the project management organisation for the funding programme "Promotion of climate-friendly commercial vehicles and associated refuelling and charging infrastructure".

From discussions with NOW, H2AS has learned that the subsidy programme will reopen this autumn. The funding programme is not limited to heavy goods vehicles, but also includes special machines - for example for waste disposal or street cleaning. The installation of infrastructure (including petrol stations) is also subsidised. The subsidy rate is 80 %. The funding of a feasibility study is also possible through the directive.

In his lecture, Dr. Peter Oswald (project manager of the Hydrogen Alliance South Lower Saxony) will present the funding programme and put forward a concept for discussion on how a hydrogen infrastructure can be established in South Lower Saxony.
